Description
Winbow Farm is a wonderful example of traditional English farm house that has grown over the centuries to now contain 7 bedrooms, 3 reception rooms, large office/workshop and a dairy; with the vast majority of rooms enjoying southerly views over some of the 57 acres (23 ha) agricultural land belonging to the property. With origins thought to date back as far as the 12th century and the main structure believed to have been built around the 17th or 18th century, charming hints of the history are seen through exposed Plank & Muntin Screens found in the sitting room and dining room, and a brick built bread oven in the kitchen. The current owners have carried out arguably some of the most impressive additions and alterations including the clever rearrangement of the interior, the addition of large summer house with southerly views and the erection of a two storey extension in immaculate condition creating two bedrooms with ensuite shower rooms and a reception room with a south facing balcony. Additional features of the farm house are found in the kitchen where there are hand-made reclaimed Pine units and an exposed red brick floor, the recent instalment of an ensuite and walk-in-wardrobe in the master bedroom and the southerly panoramic views over the surrounding countryside.
Gardens, Grounds & Outbuildings
Outside, situated to the West of the farm house, is the approx. 100ft garden with borders consisting of shrubs and low level hedges. Off to the side of the garden is a well position summer house which sits raised facing south. A south facing terrace sits outside the front door and provides a charming approach to the house and an opportune area to dine or entertain during summer months. And a large driveway to the East of the farm house has been the subject of major alterations in recent years creating space for multiple vehicles.
The land extends to approximately 57 acres (23 ha) which is situated on a rolling landscape consisting of mainly agricultural land boasting south facing productive soil, and a charming woodland and stream. There are approximately eighteen outbuildings consisting of barns, garaging, stable and carpentry workshop which combine to provide versatile storage suitable for even large farmyard machinery.
