The Business
The present owners purchased this property in 2005 and are currently running their 8th season of trade. They have improved the interior and exterior decoration of the property extensively since they began running the business, recently refurbishing the majority of the guest bedrooms in Feb/Mar 2012.
For 6 years, the husband and wife owners ran the business without additional help. They started a retail business in the town of Tobermory in 2011 and since that time, have employed a housekeeper at the guest house who works approx. 20 hours per week (there is no condition on the sale to retain this employee)
The business has its own successful website www.harbourguesthouse-tobermory.com and the current owners are experienced at marketing and advertise through a number of free online listings as well as local web directories which all boost the advance bookings for this business. An added advantage of web-based advertising means an increase in the number of night\'s guests will book to stay. Typically, over 70% of guests stay for more than 1 night, and over 50% of these for 3 or more nights.
